My dear Hose,
In case you may wish to let Mr. Gregor
Grant know what is happening to his collection
of sketches of Hong Kong, about which you came
to see me on the 13th of March, I am writing to
say that we are consulting Sir William Feel, the
Governor of Hong Kong, about the sketches and
suggesting that he might ask one of his officers
who happens to be on leave to inspect them ani,
if necessary, negotiate for their purchase.
I will let you know when I get his reply.
In the meantime, unless Mr. Gregor Grant wants
them back, the sketches will be retained in the
Colonial Office.
!
Sir Walter Hose, C.S.I.
(Sgd.)J.E.Shuckburgh.
